Dotz is a Brooklyn-based contemporary artist specializing in hand-dotted pointillism—a painstaking technique that transforms familiar imagery into textural, meditative experiences through thousands of individually placed dots.
After losing both parents at a young age, Dotz grew up in the foster care system, facing challenges that would shape his artistic journey in profound ways. It was during these formative years that he discovered pointillism—or as he calls it, "dot art"—as a coping mechanism and a way to find joy amid adversity. The meditative, repetitive nature of placing each dot became a form of therapy, transforming pain into beauty one dot at a time.
Deeply inspired by Damien Hirst, whose bold approach to contemporary art opened new possibilities in Dotz's mind, he developed his own distinctive style that bridges classical pointillism techniques with modern pop culture subjects. Every single dot in each piece is placed by hand and with care—there are no shortcuts, no automation, just patience and precision.
Today, Dotz's work has been exhibited in over 20 galleries worldwide, earning recognition for its unique blend of technical mastery and emotional depth.
